The biggest gaming weekend you’ve ever seen - so big, we had to make it four days long!
This Easter weekend (Friday March 21st to Monday 24th) Omega Sektor, situated in the heart of Birmingham (UK) will be hosting NCsoft and City of Heroes for a non-stop gaming extravaganza. Here are just some of the highlights…
- 400+ high-end gaming PCs for you to play on, every one of them packed with NCsoft’s games including City of Heroes, City of Villains, Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa, Guild Wars, Lineage II and Dungeon Runners!
- Dozens of cutting-edge gaming consoles, with a huge selection of heroic games plus music-based party favourites...
- Melissa ‘War Witch’ Bianco, Game Designer for City of Heroes will be our guest of honour for the entire weekend - and spilling details on the upcoming City of Heroes expansion, Issue 12!
- Tournaments and competitions all weekend.. from the mighty TaskForce: Omega to Death Races, PvP to Costume Competitions, there will be something for everyone!
- Bargain-priced NCsoft games, plus official merchandise on sale...
- Draw the World Together, creating your very own character sketch before your eyes for a charity donation! (Saturday/Sunday only.)
- The ghastly Ghost Widow and the marvellous Ms. Liberty, appearing in person on Saturday only. Get ‘into the game’ by posing for a photo with them in Recluse’s Victory!

The Ultimate Heroic Weekend will start at 8pm on Friday and finish at 8pm on Monday night. Each day has specific opening times and activities, as detailed below. There are also all-weekend activities including:
TaskForce: Omega!
The ultimate heroic challenge for the truly adventurous City of Heroes player! Compete against other teams on every European server in a truly gargantuan task: to complete six City of Heroes TaskForces and gain the coveted Task Force Commander badge. This is not a task for the faint of heart, but the rewards will be highly prized and unique… including medals, unique in-game titles, unique apparel and more!

NCsoft Gaming Bootcamp
Never played an NCsoft game? Heck, never played an MMO before? Fear not, we have you covered… all day Saturday and Sunday you’ll find ready, willing and able NCsoft staff ready to take you through an NCsoft Gaming Bootcamp. It’s not as painful as it sounds… in fact it’ll be a whole lot of fun, as you discover the heroic universe of City of Heroes, the war-torn future battlefields of Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa, the competitive fantasy world of Guild Wars and the unique lands of Lineage II: The Chaotic Throne.
Bootcamp central will be right next to Omega Sektor’s reception area - you literally won’t be able to miss it. Just drop by and say ‘hi’ to get enrolled, and walk away with a trial code to one - or more - of our games.
Draw the World Together
Love your in-game character? Or just a huge fan of a particular comics, TV or movie character? Then why not pick up a unique, one-of-a-kind sketch of that character while donating to a great cause. The Draw the World Together team of comic artists will be present all day on Saturday and Sunday, sketching like crazy to raise money for EveryChild. All you need to do is walk on up, talk to our staff and get your sketch created.

NCsoft games on sale at bargain prices!
Every game NCsoft currently sells will be on sale at Omega Sektor all weekend, some of them selling for as low as half-price… so make sure you come by and pick up a bargain before they all sell out. We’ll also have a range of NCsoft’s official merchandise, too, so keep your wallet handy!!
Omega Sektor MiniCon: Day by Day
If you’re wondering which day to visit, or what will be happening when, read on. Don’t forget to vist the official Omega Sektor MiniCon Forum to get more information as it happens.
Tickets for every day of the MiniCon will be on sale at Omega Sektor during the event. You may also purchase a Saturday night gaming overnight pass in advance, by calling Omega Sektor on (+44) (0)121 200 8383. All major credit and debit cards are accepted.
Friday 21st: The Ultimate Hero Party!
Kicking off at 8pm… come and party with your fellow players, NCsoft’s community team, Melissa Bianco (if she’s not too jetlagged!) and Omega Sektor’s staff. There will be prizes for the best heroic costumes, so break out the Spandex and get your gear on.
As well as getting an early start on your favourite PC games we’ll also be breaking out the consoles… and perhaps… there may even be singing.
Entry price: £5, including unlimited gaming and a late bar until midnight
Saturday 22nd: Ms. Liberty and Ghost Widow!
If you come for just one day, make it Saturday!! Ms. Liberty and Ghost Widow will be present all day, posing for photos, signing autographs and keeping an eye out for new recruits to Freedom Corps and Arachnos.
In addition, the artists of Draw the World Together will arrive on Saturday. Legendary Transformers artist and DTWT founder Andrew Wildman, plus Primeval comic artist Neil Edwards and more artists to be announced will be drawing your game characters all day in exchange for donations to Draw the World Together’s charity of choice, EveryChild. Plus, look out for a sneak preview - and special, limited edition prints - from the DTWT Sketchbook project, debuting later this year.
On top of all that there will be gaming competitions all day, and on Saturday afternoon, a special Q&A session with Melissa ‘War Witch’ Bianco, Senior Game Designer for City of Heroes. If you have a question about City of Heroes then this is your chance to put it to one of the people behind the franchise!
As Saturday night draws in, the NCsoft Community team will be taking their places at gaming PCs for an epic Saturday Night TaskForce session. But that’s not all! Expect to see more competitions, classic heroic movies on a big screen, and other gaming fun including tabletop gaming and more!
Everything starts at 10am, and the centre will close at 11pm. However if you want to just keep on going through the night - perhaps enjoying a TaskForce - then you can also purchase one of our limited Saturday night gaming passes!

Sunday 23rd: Social Sunday!
Had enough gaming? Of course you haven’t… and as Sunday dawns you can just keep on clicking as we roll out more competitions, more gaming and just more of everything.
If you haven’t had a chance to get a unique sketch while helping a good cause, Sunday might be the perfect time to do it, as the Draw the World Together team will still be sketching like crazy. Alternatively, try relaxing with a heroic movie on Omega Sektor’s big screen, or trying out some tabletop roleplaying for a change. If you haven’t had a chance to try a particular NCsoft game, why not enroll in a Bootcamp session and find out all about it?
Most of all, we’re hoping Sunday will be social.. so relax, hang out with your fellow players and meet the faces behind the characters you’ve played with for so long.

Monday 24th: Mellow Monday
We’re thinking that after two and a half days of gaming, by Monday you’ll want to chill out a bit… so that’s the aim with our mellow Monday. Never fear though, there will still be plenty to do and see, including the ever-continuing NCsoft Gaming Bootcamp, gaming competitions and more. This will be your last chance to pick up a gaming bargain from our store on-site, or to speak to the community team members or to badger Melissa Bianco for City of Heroes details… so don’t miss out on Monday.

Hopefully by now we’ve convinced you that this is going to be one heck of an event and that you’d be mad to miss it… so where do you sign up? The simple answer is, you don’t have to. Just turn up to Omega Sektor whenever you like and buy a ticket for the day.
