Back from London Film and Comic Con
Another show over, another heap of money raised for charity, and another batch of photos!
September 1st and 2nd was a long weekend for some of our staff as NCsoft Europe was exhibiting at the London Film and Comic Con, held at Earl’s Court One over Saturday and Sunday.
Thousands upon thousands of fans descended on the show, looking for autographs from the dozens of celebrity guests, and also to pick up a bargain or two. Those who made it over to the NCsoft stand found plenty of bargains to be had - all of our games were on sale, most at reduced prices, along with new arrivals like Guild Wars: Eye of the North.
As well as showing off video footage for titles like Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa, Lineage II: The Chaotic Throne and Aion: The Tower of Eternity, we also had Andrew Wildman, Mike Collins and Jamie Sims on the stand sketching player’s characters all weekend on behalf of Draw the World Together. All the money collected for these sketches went to Draw the World Together’s nominated charity, EveryChild.
That wasn’t all though! Those brave enough to get past the lethal looking weaponry of our Guild Wars characters were able to get their picture taken with them, again in exchange for a charity donation. Thanks to the huge generosity of everyone who visited the stand we ended the weekend raising £1,294 for EveryChild, every penny of which will go towards helping children in India and Cambodia.
If you made it down to the show, thanks for coming; if you didn’t, we’ll be exhibiting at the Comics Show and at Memorabilia later this year, both in Birmingham. Come out and see us, get a sketch done and perhaps get your photo taken with a real-life gaming character… or if all of that’s too boring, you can always talk to our community team.
In the meantime, see all the photos from London Film and Comic Con at our official Flickr set, and we’ll see you at another show!
